In his spring debut, Kendrick also gave up an RBI single to De Aza, allowing three total runs (two earned) in two innings.

Mets starter Sean Gilmartin fared better, scattering four singles over three scoreless innings. He struck out two and walked none. A key member of the 2015 bullpen, Gilmartin is stretching out as a starter this spring in an attempt to give the Mets rotation depth .

“As long as I’m able to contribute and help the club win, any position I’m in, I’ll gladly take it and accept it,” Gilmartin said. “Whatever role they want me to do, I’m going to try to exceed.”

Up next for the Braves: Aaron Blair, one of the principal prospects in this offseason’s trade, will start his second Grapefruit League game Monday against the Blue Jays.
